This machine removes dirt, debris, 22 long rifle and steel cases
There is an increasing need for a machine like this, since at least one manufacturer is now producing ammo with a steel case that is brass colored and looks identical to brass.
A great feature is that it is a true "walk away" machine. Once you fill up the hopper, you can walk away and let it separate without having to monitor or operate it.
The standard hopper on the machine holds 14.3 gallons and is designed to hold (2-3) 5-gallon buckets of cases. An optional 30-gallon hopper is available. The hopper feeds a 5-sided rotating trommel. The 5-sided design knocks some of the dirt off the cases and aids in separating embed cases. The screens that make up the trommel’s cage are laser cut to provide accurate separation. The first section of the laser cut screens are cut to allow anything small than a 22 LR to drop through into the chute and directed into the first bucket. The second section of the screen is laser cut to allow the 22 LR to drop through but not larger cases, like 5.7. The chute directs all the 22 LRs into the second bucket.
The trommel then feeds a conveyor that removes steel cases from the brass cases using a rotating magnet. It will remove any Ferris type metal that is attracted to a magnet. Unfortunately, this does not include aluminum cases.
The non-steel cases are then dropped into one of two 5-gallon buckets. This is done, so you can run a full 14-gallon hopper of cases through the machine without switching buckets. An optional ramp is available to feed a conveyer system. (See Integrated System under product page.)
The machine also works very well as a media separator to separate corn cob or other small media from the cases after tumbling.
The hopper feed rate, as well as the trommel rotation, and conveyor speed are adjustable, so you can fine tune the machine to your desired rate. The angle and associated feed rate of the trommel is also adjustable.
The cover of the trommel has a standard 2 1/2" vacuum port, so you can connect a HEPA type vacuum to the machine and remove the fine airborne dust created by the trommel and tumbling of the brass.
Included with the machine is a square top bucket and 3D printed drop guides for the steel cases.
The machine runs at a rate of approximately 3/4 to 1 gallon per minute, or 5 gallons in ~5-8 minutes.
You can also get more money for your scrap brass, since it is clean of all Ferrous metals.
The machine can also double as a media separator. The corn cob falls out of the case as it tumbles through the trommel cage removing the media. It is recommended that the bulk of the media be pre-screen before using the machine as a media separator.
My Guarantee
I guarantee it will work properly. The components come with a factory warranty. If you order a refurbished feeder, I will warrant it for 6 months. If you don't like the Trommel you can return it for a full refund (less shipping and crating) within 60 days.
